Abraham Dolson Eglin, was a pioneer of the Yakima Valley having made his home here since 1871. He died Sept. 13, 1911 at the age of 77. His death due to kidney trouble. Eight sons and daughters survived him. He had severed at one time as Connissioner of Yakima Co. and was widely known in this and adjoining counties. He was popular with older residents, and was known as "Uncle Abe by the more recent arrivals to the town.
Abraham was a native to Woodstock Ontario, but though born on the Canada side was of American parents who early in his boy hood moved back across the border to Indiana. He was born June 11 1834, and when 20 years old started by Ox team across the continent for the Pacific Coast. Arriving that year 1854, at Eugene Oregon.

Winston Peabody Wilson (November 11, 1911 – December 31, 1996) was a United States Air Forcemajor general who served as Chief of the National Guard Bureau.
Early life
[edit]Winston Peabody Wilson was born in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, on November 11, 1911.[1] Wilson was raised and educated in Little Rock, Arkansas, and acquired the nickname "Wimpy", a play on words using his name, when his football coach at Little Rock High School hollered for "Win P. Wilson" to take the field.[2] He enlisted in the Arkansas National Guard in 1929 and was an aircraft mechanic in the 154th Observation Squadron.[3]
Wilson graduated from Hendrix College in 1934.[4] In 1936 he became qualified as a pilot after receiving instruction from Earl T. Ricks, and he received his commission as a second lieutenant in 1940, the same year he received his commercial pilot's license.[5]
World War II
[edit]During World War II, Wilson initially served with the 154th Squadron at Eglin Field, flying anti-submarine patrols.[6] In September 1942, he was assigned to the staff at Headquarters, United States Army Air Forces, in Washington, D.C. He was rated as a service pilot in May 1943, and appoint
