    Die Lebensdaten Omerths sind in der Literatur nicht bekannt. Er war Schüler des Bildhauers Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse, war von bis als Künstler aktiv und stellte auf den Salons der Société des Artistes Français in Paris aus.

    Omerth fertigte zahlreiche Figuren und Statuetten von Kindern, Frauen und Männern im klassischen Stil, Jugendstil und im Stil des Art déco, die Mehrzahl für den Éditeur d’art (Kunstverleger) und BildgießerEdmond Etling. Er benutzte Materialien wie Bronze, Chryselephantin, Elfenbein, Zink und Biskuitporzellan.

    Georges Omerth ~ French, – - Georges Omerth was born in in a small town in the south of France. He showed an early interest in art, and at the age of just eighteen he began studying sculpture at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In he exhibited his first work, a bust of his friend Maurice Bourgeois, at the Salon d’Automne. Omerth’s art was heavily influenced by the Art Deco movement, which was popular at that time. He died tragically young in , but left behind a body of work that is considered some of the finest examples of French Art Deco sculpture. Omerth was very versatile as a sculptor.  His ouevre includes animalier pieces in the form of dogs and deer, French military subjects, art nouveau bronzes usually featuring women in various poses, and art deco sporting statues produced in the s and s depicting tennis, football and golf players.
